Granny's Story

Hi everyone, my name is Tom and i'm the founder and owner of Granny's Football Store.

For as long as I can remember, football has been a huge part of my life. I first started going to games when I was five and got my first kit around the same time. For me, football is more than just a game; it's family, it's friends, it's history and it’s memories.

A lot of of those memories are encapsulated in the kits our team wears on the field and we fans wear in the stands. The nostalgia it brings to own and wear a piece of history is what got me started on this venture, firstly as a collector like so many of you and secondly as a means to live my life more freely doing something I love.

Aged around 15, I began to become obsessed with all things vintage. I would spent countless hours in charity and vintage shops, picking out unique pieces to wear at school and eventually turning to my hobby into a small business to earn a bit of extra cash.

Granny's Retro was born. We sold primarily on Asos Marketplace and Depop, focusing on sportswear and designer menswear. Many years later, my love for fashion and vintage clothing had petered out and I could usually be found wearing a football shirt and a pair of tracksuit bottoms.

It was was around this time I decided I wanted to divert my attention from vintage clothing and into my real passion, football.

GM Sporting Nostalgia was next, selling vintage and modern football kits firstly via Depop and then from our own website established in January 2021. Two years later and we've decided to rebrand and bring you guys a brand new website, with improved functionality and design that felt more like us.

In January 2023, we reopened under the new name Granny's Football Store, taking me back to my roots and bringing  something new and exciting to the football shirt scene. Our aim is to bring you interesting shirts from as many clubs and countries as possible, focusing on variety and quality. We firmly believe there is a football shirt for everyone - you just might not have found it yet!
